Maple Syrup

This is a super easy maple syrup which you can whip up in minutes without any tools required. Thanks to the golden sweetener which produces a nice brown color and a good maple extract for the rich maple flavor. The syrup is thick, smooth and it taste amazing. What's more? It's zero carb so you can enjoy it guilt free. The best part is that you can also add other flavors such as mint, buttermilk, lemon, strawberry, cinnamon, rum etc. You can also add a few tablespoons of butter for a buttery taste.

1.  In a saucepan, add water, sweetener and xanthan gum. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring occasionally. Once it is boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 3 to 5 minutes until thickened.

2.  Remove the pan from heat.

3.  Add the maple and vanilla extract and mix until well combined. The best part is that you can also add other flavors such as mint, buttermilk, lemon, strawberry, cinnamon, rum etc. You can also add a few tablespoons of butter for a buttery taste.

4.  Strain to remove lumps or use a handheld blender to blitz until smooth.

5.  You can immediately serve or store in an airtight container in the pantry for up to weeks or refrigerate for up to 2 months. It is not recommended to freeze.

6.  Once refrigerated, you can warm up the maple syrup in a microwave just before serving.

7.  This recipe yields about 280 ml of maple syrup.

Ingredients

Water = 240 ml / 1 cup

Gold Monk Fruit = 150 g / 3/4 cup (You can increase to 200 g for a sweeter syrup)

Maple Extract = 15 ml / 1 tbsp (You can also use more for a stronger flavor. I used McCormick's maple extract, but you can also use any good maple extract)

Vanilla Extract = 1 tsp

Xanthan Gum = 1 tsp
